Kevin founded GCX (then Global Carbon Exchange) in 2006 and as CEO drives innovation across the company’s significant client base. His life as an entrepreneur has seen him position companies at the forefront of innovation waves, including founding (and successfully selling) an internet company in the 90’s. Today, GCX is driving the next innovation wave of the convergence of IT, business, and sustainability by supporting South Africa’s largest companies in deriving tangible business value by integrating sustainability strategies into their operations. He has played a leading role in the growth of South Africa’s sustainability industry and enjoys a regular slot on national radio where he comments on issues relating to climate change, sustainability and current affairs.
Ohad has over 10 years of sustainability management consultancy experience, where he specialised in the development and delivery of climate change response programmes. This has included carbon footprint analyses, life cycle assessments, GHG verification services, CDP reporting and GHG mitigation and adaptation strategies, all of which he has implemented with a portfolio of JSE-listed companies across various sectors. Ohad has co-authored various climate adaptation studies in agricultural and insurance sectors, and has assisted companies in developing innovative climate risk and vulnerabilty assessment tools. He has BSC Hons in Biochemistry, and an MPhil in Environmental Management. In his free time he can be found teaching his dog how to surf.
Sandra runs GCX as a tight ship, ensuring that the financial management and operational strategy of the company runs seamlessly and efficiently. She has worked with a variety of companies to optimise their administrative processes and to build capacity internally, with a specialised focus on customer relationship management. Sandra holds a BComm Financial Accounting Degree from Stellenbosch University and a PDEM Enterprise Management from the University of Cape Town. When not running the company’s finances, Sandra is also GCX’s Chief Wellbeing Officer: a cappuccinos; the reason the kitchen always stocked with hot chocolate and rusks; and always going the extra mile to help the GCX team or clients. She also worked at Disney World for two years, where customer service took on a whole new meaning.
